The Digital Poverty Alliance, the Learning Foundation campaign seeking to end digital poverty in the UK, has today been announced as the instore donation partner for the tech giant, Currys. From May, Currys customers nationwide will be offered the chance to donate 25p to charity when paying by card or digital wallet, through Currys’ partnership with micro-donation charity Pennies. Digital Poverty Alliance rolls out stage two of Tech4Teachers, in partnership with Barclays and Intel, supporting 20,000 underprivileged children in the UK
The Digital Poverty Alliance, alongside Barclays and Intel, have started to roll out its second stage of Tech4Teachers, a new project which provides laptops to teachers to improve the quality of teaching at schools across the UK. This stage of the campaign has started to connect teachers who lack adequate online access with 550 new devices, to enable them to better support over 20,000 school children in the most disadvantaged communities.
