Boots UK has announced a new partnership with FareShare to support a Scottish project that offers sanitary products for women and girls on low incomes. Period poverty is a real issue in the UK. Curbs on the marketing of alcoholic drinks to protect children are included in new plans to tackle alcohol harm. The Scottish Government’s ‘Alcohol Framework 2018: Preventing Harm’, includes proposals to consult on alcohol marketing such as public spaces and online. Scotland leads the way in inclusive education

Scotland will become the first country in the world to have LGBTI inclusive education embedded in the curriculum, Deputy First Minister John Swinney has told parliament. All state schools will be supported to teach LGBTI equality and inclusion across different age groups and subjects, grouped under various themes. Charity renews calls for end to mountain hare culls on the last day of the open season

Leading animal protection charity OneKind has renewed its calls for an end to the mass killing of mountain hares in Scotland on the last day of the open season. Mountain hares are protected by a closed season which runs from tomorrow (1st March) until 31 July.
