TotalEnergies and Aljomaih Energy & Water Awarded a 400 MW Solar Project

The consortium comprising France’s TotalEnergies and Saudi developer Aljomaih Energy & Water (AEW) has been awarded by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) following a tender process, the license to develop, build and operate a 400 megawatts (MW) solar power plant in As Sufun, KSA. The electricity produced will be sold to SPPC through a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The solar plant is expected to connect to the grid in 2027, and will power more than 68,400 homes. TotalEnergies recently signed an agreement with NativState, an Arkansas-based forest carbon project developer, to conserve forests from land conversion and heavy timber harvesting. The transaction includes 13 Improved Forest Management (IFM) projects located in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, U.S.A, covering 100,000 hectares (247,000 acres) owned by more than 280 private family forest landowners.
