UNESCO and WMF join Forces to inventory the Jewish Heritage Worldwide

On the occasion of the reopening of WMF’s French office, in Paris – UNESCO is announcing the launch of a new partnership with WMF aimed to draw up an inventory of Jewish cultural heritage around the world. This project will involve the organization of international expert missions charged with mapping and assessing the condition of Jewish heritage sites and formulating recommendations to improve their preservation and management.  UNESCO and World Monuments Fund will also design an international travelling exhibition devoted to Jewish heritage sites inscribed on the World Heritage List.…

UNESCO mobilizes education ministers from around the world for a co-ordinated response to ChatGPT

In response to the rapid emergence of new and powerful generative AI tools, on Thursday 25 May, UNESCO held the first global meeting of Ministers of Education to explore the immediate as well as far-reaching opportunities, challenges and risks that AI applications pose to education systems. UNESCO names 18 new Global Geoparks

The UNESCO Global Geopark designation was created in 2015, and recognizes “geological heritage of international significance”. Geoparks serve local communities by combining the conservation with public outreach and a sustainable approach to development. The 18 new designations brings the total up to 195 Geoparks, covering a total surface area of 486,709 km2, equivalent to twice the size of the United Kingdom. Two UNESCO Member States are joining the network for the first time: New Zealand and the Philippines.
