Vodafone has joined Good Things Foundation’s National Databank to provide free data for the charity’s network of community groups across the UK and the people they support. It has pledged 24 million gigabytes of data, enough to provide connectivity to 200,000 people for six months. Vodafone has announced it has connected more than 125,000 people living in digital poverty in the UK. To mark the milestone, radio host and TV presenter Roman Kemp has visited some of the organisations and people impacted to highlight why tackling digital exclusion is so vital. Vodafone has developed self-powered mobile towers and will deploy these across the UK, supporting the company’s target of achieving net zero for its UK operations by 2027. Vodafone launches Eco-SIM cards made from recycled plastic

Vodafone has launched Eco-SIM cards made from recycled plastic as part of the company’s commitment to reduce its impact on the environment. Starting from October 2021, Vodafone will provide customers with new Eco-SIMs in the half-sized format made from recycled plastic, progressively replacing SIM cards that are currently made from new plastic. Vodafone and Barnardo’s issue new appeal for devices to help Afghan refugees

Vodafone UK and charity partner Barnardo’s have issued a new plea to the public and businesses across the UK to donate unwanted smartphones and tablets to ‘The Great British Tech Appeal’ specifically to help refugees arriving from Afghanistan. Vodafone will add six months’ free data, calls and texts and work with Barnardo’s to get devices to Afghan young people and their families who’ve recently arrived in the UK.  This will help them access vital support, mental health services and healthcare and stay in touch with friends and family in the UK.…
