The first International Conference of the Global Framework on Chemicals will take place from 16 to 20 November 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, bringing together countries, and representatives of industries, financial institutions, international organizations, science and civil society, to accelerate action for a planet free of harm from chemicals and waste.
The Global Framework on Chemicals is a voluntary, multi-stakeholder global framework adopted in Bonn, Germany, in September 2023, providing a roadmap for countries and stakeholders to address chemicals and waste across their entire life cycle, strengthening global action on pollution.
Three years after the adoption of the Global Framework on Chemicals, the first International Conference will mark the first global opportunity to assess progress in the implementation of this multistakeholder agreement and help shape the next phase of global action towards achieving the five strategic objectives and 28 targets of the Framework.
The conference will focus on three interconnected priorities: tracking progress, accelerating action, and investing for impact.
