WE & PRovoke Media Launch the Young Changemakers Award

WE Communications (WE) have announced it is partnering with PRovoke Media to launch the Young Changemakers Award for diverse young communicators who identify as women.

“This award is about creating change and ensuring that the industry of the future is a welcoming and supportive place for everyone,” said Melissa Waggener Zorkin, Global CEO of WE Communications. “We must take bold action to raise up the next generation of strong, smart, diverse communicators.”

These awards will provide a career launching pad for industry up-and-comers by creating more opportunity for those in marginalized groups that have traditionally been under-represented in the industry. Nominees must be between the ages of 22 and 29, identify as a woman and in North America, as Asian, Black, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, or two or more or races; in UK/Europe, as Black, or as a person of color.

“We are partnering with PRovoke Media because they are one of the PR industry’s media leaders with a platform that can draw in some of the brightest future talent,” said Zorkin. “They also share our deep commitment to changing the face of our industry – for the better.”

PRovoke Media will run the awards program with a thrice yearly call for entries, in alignment with the PRovoke regional summits. The award will be run annually in three geographies: APAC/MEA, UK/Europe, and North America. Entries are free of charge.
