IPA personal membership available for COVID-19 displaced agency staff

The IPA has announced that any employee of an IPA member agency that has been made redundant between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2020 will continue to enjoy the benefits of their personal membership (MIPA) and have access to the MIPA Pathway for free until 30 June 2021.

Those affected will maintain access to IPA courses and qualifications and IPA CPD record and other MIPA benefits, until 1 July 2021 or until they are employed at a new member agency. After 2 October 2020, individuals will keep free access to three IPA qualifications (LegRegs Certificate, Commercial Certificate and Effectiveness Essentials*)

Says Patrick Mills, Director of Membership and Professional Development, IPA: “During a turbulent time for the industry, it is imperative that individuals who have had their employment impacted by COVID-19 are given the chance to continue their professional development and reskill if necessary.

MIPA accreditation is the advertising industry’s most visible, robust badge of professionalism, and I am delighted that we have been able to open our MIPA platforms to those displaced during lockdown and help former employees of IPA member agencies with a passion for professional development continue their journey.

For individuals working outside of IPA member agencies, access to the MIPA Pathway would normally cost £600pa, while maintaining your MIPA accreditation costs £200pa.

To take advantage of this offer, former employees of IPA member agencies must contact membership@ipa.co.uk

*Effectiveness Essentials Certificate is the IPA’s newest qualification, created as part of an ongoing development of a suite of advertising effectiveness learning and will launch in Autumn 2020.
