The IPA has announced the sixty champions of diversity, equity and inclusion named on the shortlist for the IPA iList 2024.
Since 2020, the IPA iList, run in partnership with Campaign, has honoured the inclusivity gamechangers behind adland’s most influential and important DEI initiatives, giving them a platform to share best practice, thought leadership and provide tried and tested tangible solutions to help improve the overall diversity and inclusion of the ad industry and the work it creates.
The shortlisted candidates, listed below, are from all levels of seniority and represent a wide variety of disciplines including strategy and planning, production, HR, new business, media and creative, and account handling. Between them they have implemented programmes and initiatives driving inclusivity in all its forms, both at a wider intersectional level and those tackling specific issues.
The shortlist will be interviewed by a judging panel chaired by Xavier Rees and made up of diversity and inclusion icons and iList alumni, before the final 2024 IPA iList is named at the IPA Talent & Diversity Conference on 24 April.
Commenting on the IPA iList shortlist, members of the judging panel said:
Xavier Rees, IPA Talent Leadership Group Chair and CEO, AMV BBDO Group:
“We have been overwhelmed by the amazing quality and number of nominations for the IPA iList 2024. It has been truly heartening to see the incredible passion and desire to drive change and create a better, more inclusive industry for everyone. Congratulations to everyone that has made the shortlist, you are an inspiration to us all.”
Leila Siddiqi, Director of D&I, IPA:
“The IPA is committed to improving diversity and inclusion within adland and through the third round of the iList we are hoping to send a strong message of solidarity and positivity to the industry.”
We want to shine a spotlight on how individuals in agencies are actively using their creativity and culture to unite against what is going to be a challenging and divisive year globally.
“Our aspiration is not just to celebrate them and present our iList as intersectional role models; but to provide the industry as a whole with tangible inspiration and showcase initiatives which can be copied, borrowed, supported or stolen, in order to solve D&I concerns, no matter the size of your agency or the level you are at.”
Gideon Spanier, UK editor-in-chief, Campaign:
“The iList has played an important role since its inception in recognising and celebrating the people who are helping to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in advertising. All of us need to keep pushing for further progress if we are to ensure the industry is more representative of wider society, which is why Campaign is pleased to support the IPA again on the iList in 2024.”
