With the nation coming together and continuing to stay at home to support the NHS and care workers, people are looking for easy ways to brighten up their mealtimes.
As a homage to the NHS and care workers, Asda is launching a Rainbow Pizza – an edible interpretation of the iconic rainbow symbol that is providing people with hope during the pandemic.
You can also feel good whilst you feast knowing that 100% of the profits of every purchase will go to charity. Asda will split this donation equally between NHS Charities Together and The Care Workers’ Charity.
Suitable for vegetarians, the Asda Rainbow Pizza has five colourful vegetable toppings – including red and orange peppers, yellow sweetcorn, green spinach and red onion. The vibrant 10” pizza is chilled and ready to pop in the oven for a quick and easy mealtime.
The Rainbow Pizza is Asda’s latest initiative launched to support the nation throughout these challenging times.
Georgia Gilman, Pizza Buyer at Asda, commented: “We are very proud to be supporting these two incredible charities at this time and we hope our new rainbow pizza will brighten up meal times whilst showing our gratitude towards hardworking frontline workers. The colourful eye-catching pizza makes for a fun family-friendly meal – from the oven to the table in a matter of minutes!’’
Ellie Orton, CEO at NHS Charities Together, stated: ‘’We’ve been blown away by the support of the nation over the last few months. Initiatives from brands like Asda are making a huge difference across the country in helping us support NHS workers, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19. We’re extremely grateful for Asda’s donations. Thank you Asda.”
Karolina Gerlich, Executive Director at The Care Workers’ Charity, said: “We are so very grateful to Asda and their customers for their support during these challenging times. The profits from the Rainbow Pizza will go directly to care workers who are working tirelessly on the front line.”
Asda’s Rainbow Pizza will be available in stores at the Asda Pizza Counter from 16th May for only £2.95.
