Big Issue Invest, the investment arm of Big Issue Group, have invested £130K into From Babies With Love, a social enterprise that supports abandoned and orphaned children around the world.
From Babies with Love’s social mission is to innovate products and services that create a new source of income to care for orphaned and abandoned children. Their goal is to donate £1 million profit per year to their partner charities, empowering over 100,000 vulnerable children.
The money from Big Issue Invest will allow the organisation to expand its staff and therefore help extend its mission of supporting children around the world.
The organisation has two entities: From Babies with Love Foundation and From Babies with Love Trading Ltd. From Babies with Love Foundation is a grant making charity. It receives the profit from its trading subsidiary and uses this to make grants to charity partners, Street Child and SOS Children’s Villages, who are specialists in the care of vulnerable children.
The business arm, From Babies with Love Trading Ltd, manufactures and sells products and services across retail, wholesale and corporate channels. It corporate gift aids 100% profit to the From Babies with Love Foundation.
The organisation has created a range of beautiful and sustainably sourced products. They began with baby products and extended to gifts for parents and adults more broadly.
In their corporate business From Babies with Love supplies gift services to HR Directors at global companies. It began with its flagship parental leave gift service, contributing to HR strategy to retain working parents and achieve gender balance. Transforming ad-hoc spend that goes on, for example flowers, this allows companies to celebrate their colleagues and at the same time help a vulnerable child, connecting people strategy with corporate values and driving ESG results.
