Launching with 48 mentors – all CIPR Fellows – Progress is a CIPR member exclusive service which provides a safe space and sounding board for mentees to discuss challenges, explore opportunities and plan future career actions with mentors. It will offer mentees an alternative perspective on the challenges they face and it will undoubtedly be welcomed now, more than ever.
Progress allows mentees to search for mentors based on a number of factors including ‘Comms Specialisms’, ‘Career Progression’, and specific ‘Industry Sectors’ including corporate and finance, construction, health and medical, local public services, public affairs and more.
Potential mentor profiles can be viewed on the CIPR website and mentees can get in touch with them directly to discuss the opportunity. The profiles will outline areas of expertise, preferred ways to work and a geographic location.
As we face some of the most challenging times in our industry, Progress couldn’t have been launched at a better time. The new light-touch approach to free mentoring will give access for CIPR members at all levels and, indeed, access to a wealth of experience across every sector. We’re very grateful to all the fellows who have volunteered to support our members.
I’ve always given the advice that everyone needs a mentor, no matter what level you’re at, and I am so pleased that we’ve been able to offer one for free, at such scale. I’d encourage all CIPR members to consider their needs and if they feel a mentor would be of benefit, visit the website and find your match.
