Clive Myrie to headline CIPR’s 2024 Annual Conference

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has announced Clive Myrie, multi award-winning journalist, newsreader, and presenter, as the headline speaker for its Annual Conference on 21 November 2024 at London’s County Hall. The Institute has also announced Juergen Maier CBE, former Chief Executive of Siemens UK and newly appointed chair of Great British Energy, will address the conference.

Myrie will bring his unique perspective on global politics and media to the line-up of speakers. With extensive experience as a foreign correspondent in Asia, Africa, Washington D.C and Europe, and as host of the BBC’s television quiz show, Mastermind, Myrie has covered major global events, interviewed world leaders throughout his distinguished career and is deeply familiar with news media. Maier will speak of his experience as an Industrialist and a strong advocate for the green re-industrialisation of the UK’s economy as well as his view of the role business should play in society and community matters.

The Institute has also announced Dr Hannah White, Director and CEO at the Institute for Government, as a key speaker. White, a regular media commentator, podcast host, and author of Held in Contempt: What’s Wrong with the House of Commons?, will bring her expertise in the public sector, how government works, and how it can work better. 

Myrie and White join a host of new speakers added to the conference’s line-up, including; 

  • Iain Anderson FCIPR, Founding and Executive Chairman at H/Advisors Cicero 
  • Mark Earls, award-winning writer and consultant on human behaviour, contemporary communications and behaviour change  
  • Peter Heneghan, Founder of The Future Communicator and former Chief Digital Communicator for the UK Government 
  • Gemma Kappala-Ramsamy MCIPR, Head of Media and Public Affairs at London Council 

They will be joined by the in-house PR team at apetito, the UK’s leading provider of meals to the Healthcare, Care Homes, Education and Social Care sectors and recent winner of the Public Affairs Campaign of the Year award at the 2024 CIPR Excellence Awards. More speakers will be announced in due course.
