Nestlé is continuing to support for UK families this summer through its continued partnership with FareShare.
Launching exclusively in 102 Tesco stores from 11th June to 5th August, the “Enjoy Breakfast Your Way” campaign marks 20 years of partnership and celebrates this long-running collaboration, a testament to our shared commitment to reducing food insecurity across the UK.
The need for support is greater than ever. Today, around 10 million people in the UK, including 2.7 million children, are living with food insecurity, roughly 1 in 7. At the same time, a staggering 10 billion meals’ worth of food go to waste each year.
Last year’s Breakfast your Way campaign led to the donation of the equivalent to more than 650,000 breakfast servings of Shreddies cereal, and around 750,000 cups of Nescafe coffee. These vital supplies were distributed through FareShare’s national network of charities, reaching thousands of communities across the UK.
Nestlé’s donation helps ensure that families and young people can start their day with a delicious breakfast, helping them to enjoy play, learning, and activity during the day. Whether it’s cereal at a children’s breakfast club or a coffee at a community breakfast, these contributions make a meaningful difference.
Nicole Sanchez-Castillo, Head of Food Partnerships at FareShare said:
“We are so grateful to everyone at Nestlé UK and Cereal Partners UK for their ongoing support for FareShare, and for running the “Enjoy Breakfast Your Way” campaign once again this summer. Over two decades, Nestlé UK have shown their unwavering commitment to supporting FareShare’s mission to tackle food waste and strengthen communities across the country. Last year’s campaign was hugely successful and resulted in the donation of thousands of breakfast servings and cups of coffee, all going to our network of over 8,000 charities. Nestlé UK’s support for FareShare powers the redistribution of surplus food, enabling local organisations to support their communities and creating essential connections for people most in need. The donations received from this year’s campaign will make a further valuable contribution to our mission and help even more people nationwide.”
Over two decades, Nestlé has donated more than 4,000 tonnes of food, drink, and pet food through the FareShare network, helping support vital community services like breakfast clubs, after-school clubs, and community groups.
Together, our work tackles hunger, but we don’t just feed people. We harness the power of food to change lives. Through food, our partnership invests in people and their communities, while reducing vast scale food waste that harms the planet.
