FareShare and Alpro work together to help charities make the most of surplus ingredients with six delicious recipes

FareShare long-standing food partner Alpro have shared six amazing recipe videos to demonstrate how charities and other organisations supported by FareShare can make the most of their surplus ingredients. These great tasting recipes were developed using commonly supplied FareShare ingredients to give charities the opportunity to add more variety and inspiration to their meals.

“Over the past year Alpro has donated over 580 tonnes of product. To encourage redistribution, we have created delicious tasting recipes we hope will inspire charity cooks to use these food donations in their weekly menus.”

Kate Arthur, External Scientific Affairs and Nutrition Manager for Alpro UK

A key focus was helping those who prepare food at the 11,000 charities supplied by FareShare to find new and exciting ways to create nutritious and delicious meals using the most commonly donated plant ingredients including plant-based drinks and alternatives to yogurt. Each recipe features one of Alpro’s plant-based products regularly included as part of FareShare deliveries to frontline charities and community groups such as school meal clubs, breakfast clubs and homeless shelters.
Kate Arthur, External Scientific Affairs and Nutrition Manager for Alpro UK comments,

“No good food should go to waste. The Covid-19 pandemic has put more pressure than ever before to do the right thing. FareShare is ensuring that surplus food, that would otherwise go to waste, is helping to feed millions of vulnerable people as well as helping to tackle climate change. Over the past year Alpro has donated over 580 tonnes of product. To encourage redistribution, we have created delicious tasting recipes we hope will inspire charity cooks to use these food donations in their weekly menus.”
