FareShare partners with Islamic Relief UK to distribute Qurbani meat

This year, FareShare will partner with Islamic Relief for the fourth year running to distribute Qurbani meat to vulnerable people across the UK.

Recognising that food poverty affects millions of people across the UK, Islamic Relief launched their first UK Qurbani programme in 2016, partnering with FareShare to provide Qurbani meat to vulnerable people up and down the country.

This year, through FareShare, donations of meat will be distributed to FareShare centres in England, Scotland and Wales and will feed hundreds of families and individuals throughout the month of August.

In 2018 alone, Islamic Relief distributed great quality lamb to around 45,000 individuals in need and are committed to providing 360 Qurbanis this year.

Tufail Hussain, Director of Islamic Relief UK said:

“FareShare are doing incredible work to help feed families who are struggling and going hungry. Qurbani is the time of year, when as Muslims, we celebrate Eid and share meat with our neighbours and those less fortunate. We look forward to working with FareShare, as they distribute food to the most vulnerable and help ease the suffering of thousands across the UK.”
