Farfetch Limited and Thrift+, an on-demand donation service for second-hand clothes and participant in Farfetch’s Dream Assembly programme, have announced a partnership to allow Farfetch customers to easily donate clothes they no longer use.
Through the partnership, Farfetch customers will be able to order a Thrift+ x Farfetch donation bag online and select a charity of their choice. All customers have to do is pack their unwanted fashion items into the bag, book a free collection service, or alternatively drop it off at a local drop-off point. When the bag is received, Thrift+ photographs the items and then lists them for sale online on the Thrift+ website. Once an item sells, a third of the proceeds are donated to the nominated charity and a third is given to the customer as Farfetch credit. The remaining third of the money is used to cover Thrift+’s costs. Alternatively, customers can choose to forgo Farfetch credit and donate all the money, less Thrift+ costs to their nominated charity. Thrift+ supports donations to any of the 160,000 registered charities in the UK.
