HRH The Prince of Wales announces Your Palace to Palace challenge to support vulnerable young people

In a recently released video message, HRH The Prince of Wales announces Your Palace to Palace, an event this September that will help raise vital funds for the UK’s leading youth charity The Prince’s Trust.

Thousands of cyclists and walkers across the UK will take part in Your Palace to Palace, supported by Magic Radio, from 20th to 26th September to support the charity started by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1976.

Walkers and cyclists are invited to complete a distance they are proud of, wherever they are in the country, to raise money for young people across the UK who need it most. This year there are even some people roller-skating for the charity.

In a video message to announce the event, The Prince of Wales said, “we have seen young people face immense challenges in recent times with their education and employment opportunities disrupted, not to mention the impact on their wellbeing.”

Young people have been among the hardest hit by the pandemic, with those already facing disadvantage hit harder still. Young people have consistently accounted for over half of all jobs lost, and at such a critical time in their lives, many have been pushed further away from support.

Funds raised from Your Palace to Palace will help The Prince’s Trust continue its vital work providing young people with the skills and confidence they need to unlock their potential and go into education, employment or training. In the fourteen years it has been running, Palace to Palace has raised over £5.3 million for The Prince’s Trust.

Joining thousands across the country are Magic Radio presenters, Tom Price, Emma B, Nick Snaith and Brogan Hubber. They are planning to challenge themselves to long distances in their local areas and raise vital awareness on Magic Radio.

Tom Price, Magic Radio Presenter says:

I am so excited to be taking part in this year’s Your Palace to Palace event to help raise money for The Prince’s Trust. I’ll be telling all the Magic Radio listeners to get involved, as after all the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, young people need our support more than ever and it’s a great opportunity to get out and get active while raising much needed funds. The Magic Radio team are proud to do our bit to support young people to succeed.
