New Chair announced for PRCA Public Sector Group

The Public Relations and Communications Association’s (PRCA) Public Sector group has been re-launched with new Chair, Marcus Chrysostomou CMPRCA, Senior Account Director from Westco Communications.

Marcus has over 20 years of experience working in the public and private sector. His experience includes the Downing Street Press Office and other government departments, running his own business, and working at a number of local authorities in senior roles.

Marcus currently works for public sector agency Westco Communications, where he supports Havering Council as Head of Communications. He is also on the PRCA council.

Marcus Chrysostomou CMPRCA, said:

“I am really pleased to be able to take on this role and reinvigorate the group. It is important that public sector communication professionals have a collective voice as well as work together in a mutually beneficial way. There are a number of hot issues affecting us from managing the changing world of comms to dealing with the daily pressures of the work place.

“And in this particularly difficult time, it is even more important the support is there for members in the current crisis to share good practice. Therefore I am really looking forward to working with the PRCA, combining the work of the Council and other groups, to offer something extra for public sector members.”
PRCA Director General, Francis Ingham MPRCA, said:

“It is our great pleasure to welcome someone of Marcus’s stature to this role. Recent weeks have proved the critical importance of public sector communications. Under Marcus’s leadership, the PRCA Public Sector Group will raise professional standards further, and showcase our country’s very best comms expertise.”
