New first-of-its-kind accessible communications training launches

The disabled community controls $13 trillion in buying power and represents 15 percent of the global population (1.85 billion people). However, every day communicators launch campaigns and publish content inaccessible to this group.

In honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day on Thursday, May 19, Current Global has launched a new, in-depth training on accessible communications as a continuation of its Accessible by Design initiative.

This first-of-its-kind facilitated training is designed to give attendees practical exercises on how to make communications more accessible; accessibility best practices with specific content examples; and background on the importance of accessible communications. Our team of accessible communications champions, which includes a blind PR professional, has developed the training and will host each 2½ hour session.

The training was announced on Thursday, a day reserved to bring more attention and awareness to digital access and inclusion to those who have disabilities and who interact daily with digital communications and technology.
