Ricoh Europe and Alzheimer’s Research UK help friends and family stay in touch with relaunch of personalised postcard tool

Ricoh Europe is relaunching its popular Printed Memories website, in partnership with Alzheimer’s Research UK. The new, mobile-enabled service makes it quicker and easier to send a personalised postcard to family and friends across the continent.

Over one million older people say they go for more than a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member. With isolation shown to increase the risk of physical and mental health problems and many more people facing the prospect in the months ahead, Printed Memories offers another way to reach out to loved ones during uncertain times.

The latest updates to the website mean users can send postcards straight from their smartphone or tablet to anywhere across Europe. The service is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian and Polish.

The simple ordering process allows people to make a successful order in three steps: uploading a picture, adding a personalised message and making the payment. Each postcard costs £1, with all proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Research UK and its work to bring about life-changing treatments for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Ricoh Europe’s CEO, David Mills, says:

“We are very proud to be working with Alzheimer’s Research UK on the relaunch of the Printed Memories website. This simple but effective service helps people to stay connected during challenging times. Whether sharing treasured memories with someone living with dementia or keeping in touch with friends and family, everyone can use this service to bring a smile to someone’s day. Crucially, each postcard sent will support Alzheimer’s Research UK in its valuable work.”

Ian Wilson, Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Research UK, adds:

“Now more than ever, it’s vital we stay connected to our loved ones, so we’re delighted that Ricoh Europe is relaunching Printed Memories. Not only does this fantastic tool allow people to reach out to their friends and family, each postcard sent supports Alzheimer’s Research UK’s life-changing dementia research. Thanks to the brilliant support of Ricoh Europe, and everyone who sends a Printed Memory, we will be able to make breakthroughs possible for everyone affected by dementia.”
