UNESCO World Heritage: 42 new sites inscribed

The 45th session of the World Heritage Committee concluded on Monday 25 September in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This year, the Committee inscribed 42 new sites and approved the extension of 5 sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. At the end of its fortnight’s work, the Committee inscribed 42 new sites, of which 33 are cultural sites and 9 are natural sites. Berry Global Partners with ACCIONA Energía to Power its Mexico Operations with 100% Renewable Electricity

Berry Global Group, Inc. recently announced a five-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with multinational renewable energy leader ACCIONA Energía to power all four of its facilities in Mexico with wind and solar power. Procuring nearly 100,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of cost-effective, renewable energy annually, this agreement is projected to avoid around 40,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, or CO2e, annually – equivalent to taking over 15,000 cars off the road. National Trust devotes record sum to historic buildings and collections conservation in 2022/23

The National Trust dedicated a record amount of funds to the conservation of historic buildings and collections in the last financial year, the charity’s latest Annual Report reveals. New research released today reveals that the younger generation do not feel able to chase their dream jobs, citing a lack of opportunity (36 per cent) as the number one obstacle.
