Since 2019, The Princes Trust has provided free programmes to help thousands of young people across the country build the confidence and skills they need to start sustainable careers across a range of roles in the NHS and care sector. The Prince’s Trust NatWest Youth Index 2024 , released recently, finds one in five (21 per cent) young people in the UK have missed school or work in the past year due to their mental health. Green skills crisis is looming, warns Prince’s Trust

The Prince’s Trust and Public First have recently launched a report on young people’s perceptions of the green economy, finding that awareness and interest in green jobs is worryingly low. The report, Generation Green Jobs? , is based on polling of 2,054 young people aged 16 to 25 years old. New research released today reveals that the younger generation do not feel able to chase their dream jobs, citing a lack of opportunity (36 per cent) as the number one obstacle.
