Amnesty International’s open-source investigation into the US-led Coalition’s bombing of the Syrian city of Raqqa has won a Times Higher Education award. The investigation helped reveal how the Coalition’s four-month military offensive against the Islamic State armed group in Raqqa in 2017 killed at least 1,600 civilians. New fundraising code published
The newly improved Code of Fundraising Practice has just been published by the Fundraising Regulator, and will come into effect in October 2019. The changes are designed to make it easier for fundraisers, charities and third-party organisations to understand the standards expected of them when fundraising. The new code is also easier for the public to use, so they can know what to expect from ethical fundraising. Anheuser-Busch switches to renewable electricity in the US
The American brewer Anheuser-Busch is set to buy entirely renewable electricity by 2021 after signing the largest solar power purchase agreement (PPA) of any US beverage company. Coupled with its Budweiser Wind Farm in Billings, Oklahoma, the move will allow Anheuser-Busch to reach 100% renewable electricity in the US four years ahead of its 2025 goal.
