Online shoppers give items new lease of life as charity shop sales grow

Charity shop sales continued to grow at the end of 2023, boosted by strong online sales as charities worked to attract customers despite bad weather, according to the Charity Retail Association’s 2023 Q4 Quarterly Market Analysis report*. Charity Retail Association and Wil-U, Launch Volunteering Matching Service

The Charity Retail Association  in collaboration with Wil-U, have launched an initiative to help match potential volunteers with charity shops when they reopen on or after the 15th June. From today, members of the public who are potentially interested in volunteering can go to www.charityshopvolunteer.org.uk and sign up in a very simple and short process. The Charity Retail Association (CRA) is proud to launch the Charity Retail Safeguarding Scheme (CRSS), developed in conjunction with Barnardo’s. The scheme was set up to encourage charity retailers to follow a consistent set of principles which ensure that the charity shops adhere to best practice when it comes to safeguarding issues in stores.
