The University of Liverpool has committed to sell its remaining £2.8m holdings in fossil fuel companies by July 2022, which represents 1.2% of the University’s investment portfolio. Amnesty International will divest from fossil fuel companies in acknowledgement that investment in an industry whose products are the primary source of the climate crisis is at odds with the organisation’s mission of protecting and championing human rights.
