New free period product finder app for Scotland launched in ground-breaking first

For the first time, people across Scotland will be able to pick up free period products from a range of public locations via a new app thanks to a project spearheaded by period product social enterprise Hey Girls. Subscription service launched in Denbighshire to end period poverty

A subscription service has been launched in Denbighshire to end period poverty and prevent periods being a barrier to education. The Council, through the Welsh Government 2020/21 Period Deprivation Grant, has secured a subscription service for young people in Denbighshire where period poverty could be a barrier to their education.   The free service, in conjunction with social enterprise Hey Girls, will run until March 2022 providing either a package of re-usable period products or a monthly delivery of eco-friendly disposable products directly to subscribers’ home. Period-Friendly Employer Challenge Launched For Businesses In Scotland

Social enterprise Hey Girls alongside the Scottish Government has launched www.myperiod.org.uk, a website designed to educate and remove stigma around periods in the workplace for employers. Periods affect around 50% of the population throughout most of their working lives, yet it’s still very rare to find provision for menstruating employees in workplace toilets.
