Thousands of pieces of soft plastics, such as bread bags and crisp packets, dropped off by customers at Tesco stores are to get a new lease of life as outdoor furniture and garden equipment in a series of community gardens being designed for NHS Property Services.  Veolia has introduced an innovative recycling process that can turn soft plastic, which previously was difficult to recycle, into items such as benches, decking, tables and raised beds. NHS on course to achieve net zero carbon status by 2040, aided by NHS Property Services ambitious Green Plan

NHS Property Services (NHSPS) publishes three-year Green Plan focusing on decarbonising the NHS estate, supporting customers in their transition to net zero, and helping the NHS adapt to mitigate the impact of climate change. This plan is part of the organisation’s ‘Delivering a Greener NHS’ programme, which aims to achieve NHS England’s ambition for a net zero carbon NHS by 2040.
