UK rooftop solar installations hit record high

The number of certified solar panel installations in 2025 has now surpassed 203,125 – the previous annual record set in 2011. This brings the total to 1.85 million certified solar panel installations to date, according to data from MCS, the UK’s quality mark for small-scale renewables. North Yorkshire food company HECK! has invested in solar energy production at its HQ in Kirklington. The sausage and burger business installed 433 solar electricity panels, capable of generating 200,000 kwh per year, 20% of the factory energy. Vodafone signs second major solar power purchase agreement in UK, providing energy security and supporting its net zero goals

Vodafone has signed its second major corporate solar power purchase agreement (PPA) in the UK. The deal gives Vodafone UK access to clean, high-quality and affordable renewable electricity for the next 10 years, offering price certainty and improved energy security. Running on Sunshine: Octopus Energy enters solar installation market

Octopus Energy is adding domestic solar photovoltaic (PV) to its catalogue of home energy tech installation, helping to slash customers’ electricity bills and create a multitude of new green jobs.
