The John Lewis Partnership has joined a leading group of businesses that have signed up to the SBTi Business Ambition for 1.5°C and also joined UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign.  To mitigate some of the worst climate impacts and prevent a state of irreversible damage to societies, economies and the natural world, it’s essential that we hold temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. The John Lewis Partnership will donate four million healthy snacks to help feed children and families in need this summer

With up to three million children at risk of going hungry over the school holidays, the John Lewis Partnership has unveiled a number of initiatives to help families in need this summer. Specifically, they will be: Working with FareShare and Waitrose farmers and suppliers to provide 4 million healthy snacks over the summer to more than 3000 charities and local organisations across the UK, many of which will be part of the government’s Holiday Activities and Food Programme. John Lewis Partnership, in conjunction with the British Medical Association, will deliver care packages to Mental Health Trusts as work continues to battle the current crisis. Mental Health Trusts in the UK are currently facing extreme pressures in caring for patients, many of whom are Covid positive or have been struggling to cope with self-isolation in recent weeks.  The care packages will ensure healthcare staff, often providing round-the-clock care, have the supplies they need during a long shift.
