Decanter wine magazine auctioned off more than 4,000 bottles of top quality wine entered into this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), generating £66,000 for international charity WaterAid – the highest amount ever raised. Acclaimed Indian film director Shekhar Kapur has collaborated with international charity WaterAid to create a short animation, Brides of the Well, adapted from a story written by Shekhar to highlight how the global water crisis affects women and girls. WaterAid and GOOD Agency have won the best global fundraising and advocacy campaign at the 2018 Campaigns for Good Awards for their outstanding, innovative Untapped appeal. The campaign, launched last November, raised a staggering £4.2 million that was matched by the UK Government to take the total above £8 million.
