Triodos Bank has won gold in the ‘Finance Trailblazer of the Year’ category at the inaugural Global Good Finance Awards 2025. The award recognises its dedication to positive impact through financing social and environmental change over three decades.
Established in 2015, the Global Good Awards honours a diverse array of businesses, social enterprises, NGOs, and charities that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability and ethical leadership. This is the first year that the programme has run awards aimed specifically at the finance sector, recognising its important role in the transition to a sustainable future.
The ‘Finance Trailblazer of the Year’ title is awarded to companies that play a pivotal role in bringing ambitious sustainable initiatives, projects, and enterprises to life. It celebrates their drive for transformative impact as a result of their financial influence of loans, investments and more.
Triodos Bank was recognised by the judges for its 30-year history of innovation and impact in sustainable banking, as the bank celebrates this significant anniversary in the UK. The award reflects the bank’s continued investment in renewable energy projects, pioneering new nature-based investment models and backing of sectors from regenerative agriculture to social housing.
Speaking about Triodos, the judges said: “Your leadership in demonstrating that financial performance and positive impact can go hand in hand, including through your communications campaigns, is to be commended.”
Roger Hattam, director of retail banking at Triodos Bank UK, said: “We’re thrilled to receive this recognition from the Global Good Awards, especially as we mark 30 years of sustainable banking in the UK. This award is a powerful endorsement of the long-term value and impact that ethical finance can deliver.
“With the continued support of our customers, Triodos remains committed to leading by example – showing how banking can be a force for positive change for both people and the planet.”
