A brain tumor diagnosis is scary for anyone, but for children it can be even scarier and more confusing. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to families facing a child’s brain tumor diagnosis, and leading independent ad agency RPA created a fictional group of characters called the Imaginary Friend Society to help teach kids about treatment in a way that’s easy to understand. Brave women stand up to cancer and bare their mastectomy scars

Fourteen women who were diagnosed with breast cancer, including some who are still receiving treatment, have taken part in a photo shoot for Stand Up To Cancer, showing their mastectomy scars in a series of gritty and honest portraits. The project, called ‘Mastectomy’, has been released as part of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign and marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Launch of new domestic abuse photo project, one thousand words

Scottish Women’s Aid and Zero Tolerance have today launched a new creative project in collaboration with survivors to show the reality of domestic abuse. One thousand words is a collection of 15 powerful photos taken by acclaimed photographer and storyteller Laura Dodsworth based on the words and experiences of women who have lived through domestic abuse. The images created are unique; contrary to most depictions of domestic abuse they do not show bruises, or physical violence.
