Global Citizen and Headcount Announce ‘Just Vote’ Campaign to Mobilize Young Voters

International advocacy organization Global Citizen and voter registration organization HeadCount have announced the launch of the Just Vote campaign to engage young Americans to check their status, register and vote in November and elections beyond. It’s a wrap for recyclers as Co-op launches film recycling scheme – ‘clean it, scrunch it, bin it’

Shoppers will be able to recycle ‘scrunchable’ plastic film quickly and easily thanks to a new in-store film collection scheme from the Co-op, which is set to be trialled in selected stores from 8 September. The initiative forms part of a major 50-store roll out which aims to tackle plastic pollution and establish an accessible disposal route for the material, which is not currently collected by UK councils. ACLU Launches Multi-Year Effort to Release 50,000 from Prisons Through Gubernatorial Clemency Powers

The American Civil Liberties Union has launched The Redemption Campaign – Embracing Clemency, a first of its kind nationwide effort to release 50,000 people from state prisons over the next five years by executing state-level campaigns that push governors to use their existing clemency powers in new and transformational ways.
