Provide individual support to victims of sustained online hate, Charities Against Hate urges social media platforms

Social media platforms should give people who experience severe or sustained hate and harassment direct access to support from an employee, a coalition of charities is urging. Charities Against Hate, a voluntary group including representatives of more than 40 leading charities, says platforms are “miles behind other companies” in supporting people who have been harmed or put in danger through using their services. Leeds prisoners rally together to support homelessness charity

Inmates at HMP Leeds have come together to raise funds and food for a local homelessness charity, which has helped to feed 50 rough sleepers across the city. Simon on the Streets, a West Yorkshire homelessness charity, was contacted last December by inmates who wanted to make a difference and fundraise from inside prison. Joe Outlaw, who is currently residing in HMP Leeds, wrote a letter to the charity about a Christmas jumper competition and how the proceeds from this would go towards helping the homeless.  The inmates organised the…
