Programme launched to tackle climate anxiety in young people

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) is launching a new public engagement programme for young adults concerned about the environment. This comes as part of UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) contribution to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26). The COP26 eco-anxiety digital engagement project entitled ‘Our Stories, Our Systems’ will facilitate two-way engagement between environmental science researchers and eco-anxious young adults. World’s biggest letter writing campaign launches to help 10 people around the world facing danger

Amnesty International has launched its flagship annual letter-writing campaign, Write for Rights to support 10 activists from around the world who have been attacked, jailed, harassed or disappeared for standing up for their rights. Amnesty is calling on members of the public to join the global action which will take place between November and December. Asda rolls out ‘Quieter Hour’ and trains over 85,000 colleagues to better serve customers with additional needs

Asda has announced it has carried out extra training for over 85,000 colleagues to help better serve disabled customers through the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme. To coincide with Purple Tuesday, Asda has also announced the rollout of it’s new ‘Quieter Hour’ in stores which will see store noises diminished to aid customers with certain disabilities.
