IPA publishes Agency Census 2023

The IPA has published its 2023 Agency Census revealing that overall staff numbers within IPA agency membership have increased marginally year-on-year. According to the 2023 IPA Agency Census, now in its 64th year, total employee numbers within IPA member agencies have stabilised and, as of 1 September 2023, stand at 26,630 This represents a marginal rise of 1.3% from the 26,290 recorded in 2022. National Trust joins push for temperate rainforest revival in North Devon with new 100,000-strong tree planting project

A large-scale project to create a wilder, woodier and wetter landscape is underway in north Devon with the National Trust planting over 100,000 trees this winter to re-establish approximately 50 hectares (123 acres) of temperate rainforest, one of the UK’s most endangered habitats, and other wooded habitats. The planting will take place across three sites, with 50,000 trees to be planted at Arlington Court, 38,000 on Exmoor and 20,000 at Woolacombe/Hartland, with more planting to follow in the coming years. Charity adverts supporting international causes still focus predominantly on Africa

There is a continued predominance of images with African characters in charity adverts supporting international causes, but on the whole the images used in charity fundraising appeals are improving – according to new research by the University of East Anglia (UEA).  The study, conducted over a six-month period in 2021, examines 541 images found in 17 national weekend newspapers in the UK.
