SBTi Opens Consultation on New Standard to Accelerate Automotive Industry’s Net-Zero Transition

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) recently launched a 60-day public consultation on its draft SBTi Automotive Sector Net-Zero Standard. Volvo Cars signs recycled steel deal with SSAB

Volvo Cars has signed a new agreement with Swedish steel firm SSAB for the supply of high-quality, recycled and near zero-emissions steel starting from 2025. Volvo Cars is the first car maker to sign a supply agreement with SSAB for recycled, near zero-emissions steel for serial production deliveries. FRC Public Consultation on Introduction of International Standard on Sustainability Assurance (UK) 5000

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has today issued a consultation on a proposed UK version of the International Standard on Sustainability Assurance (ISSA) 5000, “General Requirements for Sustainability Assurance Engagements”. The consultation proposes ISSA (UK) 5000 for use on a voluntary basis by assurance providers. The FRC proposes alignment with the international standard in order to minimise burdens for firms carrying out assurance engagements across multiple jurisdictions.
