Hydrogen peroxide is a key chemical used in industrial synthesis, disinfection, water treatment, and bleaching. Today, its global production relies almost exclusively on the energy-intensive Anthraquinone Oxidation (AO) process, which is centralized, requires hazardous organic solvents, and demands extensive long-distance transport of concentrated H₂O₂. This dependence creates environmental, safety, and cost challenges that limit the flexible and on-site use of the chemical. DPA and easyJet launch Tech4Takeoff to provide iPads to help students without access to devices

The Digital Poverty Alliance (DPA) and easyJet have launched Tech4Takeoff, a new programme that will provide iPads to students aged 11-19 who need better access to technology outside the classroom. Applications open on 21 May, with the first phase prioritising communities near easyJet’s UK bases in Luton, Gatwick and Newcastle.
