ASL Global Publishes New Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Report

ASL Global has announced its continued commitment to sustainability by publishing its latest Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CRS) Report. The report reflects on the progress made since the launch of ASL’s Sustainability initiative, One World, in January 2020, and looks ahead to the ambitious targets set up to 2025.

Last Year, ASL Global established firm CRS targets, prioritising those issues which have particular social and environmental significance to its business, focusing efforts on where this leading marketing services company can make a tangible, positive impact.

ASL Global, a proud signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, and EcoVadis Gold rated Supplier, reported a 50% reduction in carbon emissions in the past 12 months, and has significantly reduced its consumption of plastic packaging. A total of 529 tonnes of plastic has been saved from landfill by the business using recycled PET fabric and compostable packaging to replace conventional virgin plastic polybags.

Building on the strong progress made since January 2020, ASL Global has created a clear path towards a more sustainable business through three key objectives: reducing its impact, inspiring its partners, and helping local communities flourish. The business has set specific future goals relating to each of these objectives including:

  • Setting science-based targets for carbon reduction
  • Becoming a carbon neutral business
  • Removing single-use plastic from its operations
  • Launching a product lifecycle sustainability calculator
  • Expanding our internship programme to all markets
  • Implementing a social equity scorecard for all ASL suppliers

Emma Pomeroy, ASL Global’s CRS Director, commented on recent progress made “In 2020, we made a commitment to become a more sustainable business, and to help our customers and suppliers to do the same. Since then, we have made significant strides towards this goal. We have achieved a lot in the last year; with continuous support, the use of innovation and a conscious effort to strive for sustainability, we are excited to announce our future commitments”.

Alec Pettigrew, ASL Global’s Chairman, commented on the future “These are ambitious targets, but we are working as hard as possible to achieve them. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, and to collaborate with our customers and supply partners in building transparent, sustainable marketing supply chains that reduce environmental impact and help local communities to flourish”.
