The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has published the second volume of its Everyday Ethics in PR case study collection, providing PR professionals with practical guidance on navigating real-world ethical dilemmas.
Everyday Ethics in PR Volume II features seven anonymised case studies drawn from enquiries to the CIPR’s Ethics Hotline. Written by the CIPR’s Professional Practice and Ethics Consultant, Chris Lines Chart.PR, each case study presents a real ethical dilemma faced by practitioners and provides considerations and advice for each. It is designed to help readers reflect on how they would respond in similar situations and strengthen their ability to recognise and address ethical challenges in their work.
The guide is available free to download for members, worth 5 CIPR CPD points, and also fulfils the requirement to log 5 ethics points.
Ethics shapes the everyday decisions PR practitioners make, often in situations where the right course of action feels genuinely unclear. This second volume of case studies brings together a rich variety of real ethical questions our members navigate – from evolving media relationships and conflicts of interest to political engagement and transparency in content. This collection is designed to help PR practitioners build their confidence when they encounter similar challenges. The first collection proved popular with members, and I hope this second volume proves equally useful in supporting ethical practice.
