Scotland’s prosecution service is joining with Rape Crisis Scotland to obtain feedback from victims of sexual crime about their experience of the justice system. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and Rape Crisis Scotland (RCS). Under the new agreement RCS will share anonymous feedback on victims’ experiences of the criminal justice system and their views on the service provided by COPFS. Cancer Research UK has announced the signing of a five-year drug-discovery collaboration between its subsidiary, Cancer Research Technology (CRT), and Celgene Corporation, to discover, develop and commercialise new anti-cancer treatments. This arrangement represents an expansion of Cancer Research Technology’s theme-based translational model that now encompasses six industry partnerships, including this new collaboration with Celgene. On Wednesday 29 November, 10-year-old cancer survivor and aspiring figure skater, Georgia Hillman from Dundee, Scotland, showed just how talented she is by performing on the Natural History Museum Ice Rink, London, with former Dancing on Ice Star, Frankie Seaman. Georgia, from Dundee, glided beautifully on the ice, spun to festive songs and showed Frankie how far she has come since being diagnosed with cancer just before her first birthday. Iceland and the Co-op have become the first supermarkets to back a UK-wide bottle deposit return system (DRS) as a way of tackling the growing threat of ocean plastic pollution.
