Charity invites you to sing missing people home on social media

UK charity Missing People has launched a campaign to raise funds to help bring missing people home this Christmas.

Following the Missing People Choir’s success in the Britain’s Got Talent final earlier this year, the charity isn’t ready for the music to stop. Sing Them Home has just launched to encourage social media users to share a line of their favourite Christmas tune and nominate someone to take on their musical baton.

Two missing people returned home after the Missing People Choir’s performance in the final of the prime time TV juggernaut. They have now challenged the charity’s supporters up and down the country to spread festive cheer and help bring more vulnerable missing people home.

The challenge follows a simple share, donate, nominate pattern. All supporters have to do is upload a short video to their social account, singing a line from a Christmas classic and using the hashtag #SingThemHome. They are being encouraged to tag and nominate their friends and text SING05 £5 to 70070 to make a £5 donation.

Clare Cook, Missing People Choir singer and cofounder said: “After Britain’s Got Talent, the Missing People Choir was so moved by the overwhelming support from the public, and especially pleased that two people were found as a result of the show.

“For families with missing loved ones it’s a time of year that’s particularly difficult. Now everyone can play (or sing) their part in bringing missing people home for Christmas.

“Anyone is welcome to join in, from emerging superstars to those who might set off the BGT judges’ big red buzzers!”

All proceeds generated from the campaign will support the charity Missing People’s Home for Christmas appeal.
