Clear Channel UK supports Outvertising Live 2023: Advocating LGBTQ+ inclusivity in advertising

Clear Channel proudly supports Outvertising Live, the annual gathering of advertising’s queer community and allies, which is a celebration of inclusivity and progress.

Organised by Outvertising, a not-for-profit advocacy group for LGBTQ+ individuals in the industry, the event brings together thought leaders and experts to share insights and explore advancements in inclusive advertising practices.

Representing Clear Channel in full force, our Queer Channel (ERG) members actively participated in this transformative event, engaging with a diverse audience from across the industry.

The event kicked off with a thought-provoking discussion reflecting on Pride 2023. Panelists delved into the complexities faced by brands in navigating this year’s Pride landscape, evaluating successful approaches and areas for improvement.

Another panel focused on actionable strategies for fostering positive change within the advertising landscape. Discussions revolved around building a better ad world and implementing tangible steps for progress.

The anticipated Outvertising Consumer report also made its debut at the event, which explores the behaviour of LGBTQ+ audiences and how brands can authentically connect with this demographic in meaningful ways based on data-driven insights.

Among the inspiring sessions, Camelot and adam&eveDDB shared their impactful 2023 campaign featuring a heartwarming narrative centered on a gay couple, highlighting how the lottery contributed to their love story.

Asexual rights advocate Yasmin Benoit shed light on the significance of representation, specifically addressing the rights and visibility of asexual individuals in the UK today.

The event came to a close with a discussion emphasising the recognition and protection of queer talent within the industry. Speakers underscored the critical importance of safeguarding mental health and nurturing a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ professionals.
