There will be a small spa space, a chance to try Reiki, Indian Head Massage and yoga, and a free lucky dip with prizes donated by businesses across Edinburgh.

The event will be held at our premises at 525 Ferry Road, Edinburgh, EH5 2FF which is easily accessible by public transport and has 125 parking spaces, including accessible parking.

Anyone who has caring responsibilities is invited to attend and this event is open to young carers and adults alike and carers are welcome to bring the person(s) they care for.

Lucy Ridley, EVOC 150 Programme Manager, said: “According to Carers UK, 6.5million people In the United Kingdom are carers and care for someone who is older, disabled or seriously ill.

“People become carers every day and it can be a very complex and isolating experience. So, this Carers Rights Day we are thanking carers by inviting them to our wellbeing event to enjoy some yoga and stress relieving therapies.

“We are delighted to welcome all unpaid and paid carers to the event, as well as the person or people that they care for.”

As well as providing relaxing self-care treatments for carers, the event will aim to raise awareness of Carers Rights Day. The day, organised by Carers UK, beings organisations across the UK together to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.

EVOC has been supporting Edinburgh’s residents for 150 years and we are celebrating this anniversary by promoting charity, kindness and the work and achievements of the third sector through a range of events.

The project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and more information is available at www.evoc150.org.uk
