Melissa Cannon appointed PRCA International Director

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has appointed Melissa Cannon MPRCA as PRCA International Director.

Melissa has played a key role in PRCA’s global expansion in recent years where she was the General Manager of PRCA Middle East and North Africa (MENA) from 2018-2020. During her time in MENA, the Association developed rapidly throughout the region, establishing a strong presence in more than a dozen MENA countries and offering a diverse range of events, networking and learning opportunities for its members.

PRCA Director General Francis Ingham MPRCA said:

“Public relations operates without borders, and so do we. We now offer PRCA membership to all communications professionals, all around the world.

“Long before the pandemic hit, we were already the world’s largest PR body, with members in 70 countries, and offices in London, Dubai, Singapore, and Buenos Aires. Since last March, our international offering has grown enormously, as all of our services have become available to all of our members, regardless of location.

“Melissa’s appointment as PRCA International Director will reflect that transformation, and accelerate it. As the global industry starts to recover and grow again, we too are going to grow our global services and footprint, headed up by this new senior level appointment.”

Melissa Cannon MPRCA said:

“The events of 2020 have provided lessons, and reminders, for us all to take into 2021 and beyond. For me, recent events have reinforced the strength and ingenuity of our global industry, and how collaboration and partnership truly knows no borders.

“I’m excited by the possibilities of what’s next. I look forward to working with our fabulous teams in London, Dubai, Singapore and Buenos Aires, to expand our presence globally, and support our members all over the world.”
