The PRCA has launched the annual Reginald Watts Prize for Insight.
The award, which launched in 2016, recognises the legacy of Reginald Watts FPRCA, former PRCA Chairman, CIPR President, and UK CEO of Burson Marsteller.
The annual prize commemorates his thought leadership, writing, and forethought. The competition will see young participants challenged to write thought-provoking essays on the PR and communications industry.
This year’s question is:
“In an age of a revolution in digital communications how would you define ‘Public Relations’?”
Anyone aged 25 or under may enter an essay on the chosen question, and each essay may be up to 1,000 words long. Entries will be judged on their demonstration of intelligence, and the forward-looking viewpoints that are displayed.
The winner will be decided by a judging panel and awarded the Reginald Watts Prize, along with a £500 bursary.
During his career, Watts wrote four books on PR and communications, and was also a councillor of the City of Westminster, including a period as its Deputy Lord Mayor. Watts had a PhD in Semiotics.
The entry period closes on Friday, 17th August 2018, with shortlists announced in September and the award-giving ceremony in October. To enter, email Neha Khatwani.
