PRCA look to launch new gender pay gap guidance soon

Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA, has commented on the industry and the gender pay gap issue: “The gender pay gap reporting deadline has passed and – while the legislation touches very few organisations in our industry – we now need to take the initiative and go above and beyond this minimum requirement.

“Our joint work with PRWeek and Women in PR to gauge the industry’s views on voluntary disclosure overwhelmingly showed two things. One, that practitioners support positive action on the issue. Two, that 80% believe the threshold should be far lower than it currently is.

“Against the backdrop, we will be launching new guidance next month on how to meaningfully communicate and tackle gender pay gaps. The PRCA will name and praise all firms that disclose their gender pay gap, engage with (and share insight from) organisations that have already gone through the process, and ultimately build on this grassroots support for disclosure.”
