PRCA partners with the PR Cavalry to simplify hiring the perfect freelancer

Tech start-up The PR Cavalry has signed a partnership agreement with the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) to expand its freelancer portal which enables clients to find the perfect freelancer for their brief.

The PR Cavalry launched in April and already has a growing talent pool of hundreds of mid and senior PR freelancers whose skillsets are matched algorithmically to client briefs. The company likens its service to companies like Trivago where the user sets their criteria for the ideal freelancer and is presented with a list whose experience, skills and contacts are a close fit with the brief.

The PRCA freelancer portal is free to use by clients and agencies and there are no recruitment fees to hire a freelancer through The PR Cavalry. When the client pays the freelancer’s invoice, The PR Cavalry charges the freelancer a 10% commission to reflect the higher profit that results from the precise matching of brief to skillset and the reduced time that freelancer’s need to invest in finding new work.

The company says that around one-sixth of the UK PR talent pool is freelance but is largely invisible to clients because it is not searchable. The PR Cavalry is changing that by codifying freelancers’ skillsets, experience and contacts in a way that allows clients to match the talent to their brief in a matter of seconds.

Nigel Sarbutts, Founder, The PR Cavalry, said: “The PRCA is continually pushing to modernise PR and as a technology business at the forefront of the freelance revolution, The PR Cavalry is proud to have signed this agreement.”

Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA, said: “We pride ourselves in being able to offer our members the very best resources and benefits, which is why I’m delighted to announce our partnership with The PR Cavalry.

“For those of you still considering membership, there’s never been a better time to join. As part of ethics month, we’re challenging all PR practitioners to showcase their accountability, and join the world’s most dynamic and ethical PR professional body. As an added incentive, we’re offering non-members the chance to get 30-days free membership. Simply sign up using the code ‘trialmember’ before October 12th to get 30-days free.”
