Asda replaces coloured milk bottle tops to recycle over 200 million pieces of plastic a year

Asda has announced that it will replace coloured caps with clear caps on all its own label fresh milk, including skimmed, semi-skimmed, whole, organic, and filtered milk. The change will mean that 268 tonnes of High-Density Polythene (rHDPE) can be recycled to make new milk bottles and is part of Asda’s plan to make more of its food packaging recyclable. More than 11m households don’t earn enough to cover essential costs

Low income households continue to be disproportionately affected by the cost of living crisis, as the latest Asda Income Tracker shows that 40% of the UK’s 28m households* had negative discretionary income last month – meaning their take home pay doesn’t cover the cost of their bills.
